Cala D'or Means
'Golden Bay' in Spanish and the South East coast resort lives up to it's
name, with seven glorious beaches along its pretty coastline. Once an
old fishing village, the area retains an attractive and well cared for
holiday atmosphere with a jumble of pedestrianised streets in the resort
centre. These are brimming with lively, colourful shops, restaurants,
bars and pavement cafes. An evening stroll around the beautiful and
sophisticated marina is a must. Many of the restaurants offer panoramic
views and superb international cuisine.
There are other towns and villages
situated locally with their own charms. Santanyi has a fine square
watched over by an imposing church famous throughout Spain. There is a
market here twice weekly on Wednesdays and Saturday. The neighbouring
picturesque Marina of Porto Petro, just a few kilometre's away is
particularly known for excellent seafood restaurants. |
